The Telegraph: Extremist speakers: Should they be banned from British universities?

It is now widely–known that Mohammed Emwazi, or ‘Jihadi John’, was educated at Westminster University in London.

But there are claims he was radicalised there, too.

The news has led Home Secretary Theresa May to call for universities to take a tougher stance on allowing extremist speakers on campuses.

“If colleges and universities didn't realise before what we are up against, they should know now,” she told The Sunday Times. "We're not talking about regulating debate - we're saying they need to do more to stop radicalisation on campus."
