The Islamic Society at the university where Jihadi John was once a student engages in “hostile and intimidatory” treatment of women, an investigation has found.

Westminster University — where Mohammed Emwazi, who was unmasked as the Isis killer in February, completed his degree in 2009 — risks becoming an “enclosed place of indoctrination” unless a “more tolerant, outward-looking viewpoint” is adopted by its “ultra-conservative” Islamic Society (Isoc), a draft independent report warns.

The review, which is chaired by Lord Morgan, a former vice-chancellor of the University of Wales, and is due to publish its final report in August, was commissioned after it emerged Emwazi, 26, had enrolled in 2006 and later been awarded a 2:2 in information systems with business management.
